"At first, it seemed to me that I should distance myself a bit from the Marian devotion of my childhood in order to focus more on Christ. Thanks to St. Louis de Montfort, I came to understand that true devotion to the Mother of God is actually Chritocentric; indeed, it is very profoundly rooted in the mystery of the Blessed Trinity, and the mysteries of the Incarnation and Redemption."~Bl. Pope John Paul II

Saturday in honor of Mary: We all need a mother's love.

"Even Jesus could not come, even Jesus could not be born, even Jesus could not grow without a mother's love. Who is our mother? When Jesus was dying, His last words were, 'Behold your Mother' and from that time Mary has appeared so many times, in so many places. Why do people go to Lourdes  and Fatima and Velankanni? Because we all need a mother's love."~ Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

[Velankanni is a shrine to Our Lady of Good Health located on the Bay of Bengal]

  1. My Blessed and Holy Mom, I am asking you to help me "behold my mother" here in my daily life. Help me love her, honor her, and be affectionate in the time she has left in this life. She needs me. She needs the kids. She needs our love and affirmation so much because she is so sick. Please look after her and give her a little extra of your sweet motherly love. I love you.

  3. Dear Blessed Mother, I turn to you. Please ask your Divine Son to help me be more like you. You not only gave birth to our Redeemer, but you raised Him with love and taught Him patiently everyday. You were a loving and caring wife to your husband and provided him with a home, clothing and food. I humbly ask, that in my vocation as wife and homeschooling mother, that I be permitted to share in your humility, obedience, and love and provide all of those things for my family with joy in my heart and on my lips. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.
